  • How long does a home inpection take?
There is no set time for the home inspection, althought it may take anywhere from two to four hours. It can depend on if the home owner has done any preparations before the inspection, on the age and condition of the home, and the size and square footage.
  • Should I get my new construction home inspected?
We do offer pre-drywall inspections and professional home inspections for new construction homes. While the home is brand new, there are still many things to look for to ensure you will enjoy your home upon moving in. Many times builders are under deadlines to get homes completed. The builder will do their own inspection and having your own independant inspection done will ensure everything is properly done and in working order when you go to your final walk through upon closing.
  • Who should pay for a home inspection?
The buyer of the home is expected to pay for their own home inspection. If you are selling your home, it is a good idea to have your own indpendant home inspection completed before listing it for sale.
  • What is radon and why should I test for it?
Radon is a natural gas that is found all over the United States. It is tasteless, odorless, and not visible. It can be found in all types of building and homes. New construction homes often come with a built-in system to reduce radon. In older homes, systems can be put in if needed. High levels of radon over long periods of time have been shown to increase the risk of certain health conditions, so it is reccomended that it be tested for.
